" | I've personally been through so much again this year [and] it's been an even bigger emotional ride than last year. This year was one of the best and one of the worst years of my life. I went through something that I'm talking about on the third album. | " |

I wanna tell you. But I have. But I can't because it's coming out. It's about an orgasm though [...] You know it's about an orgasm but we're not saying it. It's just about popping the cherry and all that, a lot of those lyrics are in there. The inspiration was just being on a high with someone.

On November 15, 2024, Max revealed that the album consisted of pop-rock, R&B, country, with both energetic and introspective tracks. The album will also explore more personal themes. She also stated it was in a completely different direction creatively, as she is now on the “other side” of heartbreak. She confirmed that the previous pattern of her album titles does not apply to her third album. She also mentioned that she would both finish recording and register the album before Christmas 2024.
Max also stated in November 2024 that the album will be released "soon" but wasn't allowed to give specifics. In the same week, she confirmed in an interview with Today Australia that she is planning a solo world tour for 2025.

In a late February interview, Max revealed that the reason AM3 wasn't released in 2024 was because she didn't just want to put out an album in 2024 that was just thrown together and didn't feel cohesive, she wanted to put out something that felt like a complete project, that she had time to refine, and that reflected how she truly feels.

The song was officially registered on the same day and will likely be released in April 2025 according to previous release patterns.
On April 10, PopFiltr published an article confirming the new album title "Don't Click Play", with the official cover art included.[12][13] Max would later post a screenshot of the article on her Instagram story.[14]. The article was later deleted, implying that the information was not supposed to be released until later.
On April 12, Ava cut her hair to resemble her former hairstyle the Max Cut once again during Alok's performance at Coachella.
Album Rework
The album was originally scheduled for release in November or December of 2024 with 12 tracks, but it was eventually reworked with Max choosing to scrap many tracks. She later clarified that the album felt rushed and non-cohesive to her, and she wanted more time to perfect it. Thematically, the album was said to be about a betrayal in her inner circle and sounded similar to "Dancing's Done". Below is a list of some tracks scrapped from the album.
- "My Oh My" (original lead)
- "Spot a Fake" (second original lead)
- "Jackpot" (unfinished)
- "Red Lipstick" (demo)
- "Business Is Business" (demo)
The album has reportedly faced at least two delays throughout 2024 and as of March 17, 2025, its production status and release date plans are currently unknown. Since mid-2024, Max has appeared to prioritize her personal life, making personal recordings, and spending time with family and friends instead of a strict release schedule, and she indicated in late 2024 that she was able to release music whenever she wanted, but later stated she wanted to put out music when it feels right for her and reflects who she is in the present. Though Max has posted recording studio photos throughout 2024 and 2025, most of it appears to be personal material instead of work pointing toward a specific release. Regardless, she has been very insistent about having a world tour in mid to late-2025, meaning that her album would almost certainly have to be released by mid-2025.
Singles
"Lost Your Faith" is the album's lead single, released on February 7, 2025.
"Lovin Myself" is reportedly planned to be released as the album's second single.
Theme
While no theme has been confirmed, one has been teased by several collaborators on the album. Pink Slip stated under one of Max's Instagram posts that she was in her "villian eraaaa", while FAANGS commented with "Demon time 💘🦇". Max's own teasers frequently mention "Betrayal" and "Rebirth." Max has also said it will be thematically darker and more slower-paced.

Exact songs recorded on the listed dates are mostly unknown, this list may contain the recording of droplet singles. A recording date also does not necessarily mean Max was in the studio recording new vocals, it may just indicate she was with producers observing and directing instrumentalization and mixing sessions.
Confirmed Tracks
According to Max in June 2024 on "Sorry We're Stoned", the album will be shorter, with 10-11 songs on it, however, beginning in August after she announced the completion of the first version of the album, Max continued working on additional tracks, so the album will likely have more than 11 songs. She has said there will be "so many songs on this album".
The previous single "Spot a Fake", released as the album's then-first single on September 19, 2024, was confirmed to be on the album back in November 2024, and Max has hinted that it has been scrapped, but the current status of the song is not clear and she hasn't definitively stated either way.
