A seven-second snippet was leaked in July of 2021. @peteglowdc on Instagram uploaded a 15-second snippet of the song on his account along with many other people who uploaded low-quality snippets of the track.
Tiësto originally premiered the track for his fans during a live concert.
Ava talked about The Motto in an interview with Billboard “[Tiësto] sent me the song and I’ve done nothing like this song, so I was like ‘This is crazy, it makes me want to go clubbing’. And I’m usually like a home-body, I don’t like clubbing, so now ever since I’ve done that song, I want to go clubbing”
The Motto has 2 music videos, one which debuted with the single and one which was released on March 11, 2022. Max describes the second video as a fashion and dance video.
